How much does AmazonSmile donate?
As part of its Amazon Smile program, Amazon will donate 0.5% of eligible purchases to your chosen charity. This means that the purchase price excludes VAT, returns, shipping fees, gift-wrapping fees, service fees, and rebates.
Example: If you buy products of $1000, then your charity gets $5 of charity from you. (Calculation – $1000 x 0.5% = $5 )

Is Joining AmazonSmile worth it?
AmazonSmile donates 0.5% of your purchase towards your favorite charity, which barely makes a difference. To contribute just $50 to your favorite charity, you would need to spend $10,000 on Amazon. Therefore, if you are looking to make a big impact, using Smile probably won’t be the best choice. Furthermore, because it only accepts one-at-a-time donations, you cannot donate to more than one charity at a time.
Nonetheless, the benefit of AmazonSmile is that it is easy and does not cost you anything. You are also making a difference by making a contribution to a charity. It does not matter how much you contribute, but at least you are doing something.
