The answer is No, there is no option to delete episodes/recording. Instead, the system records and saves everything for a duration of 9 months. As new episodes are recorded, they appear in the “New in the Library” section. Once an episode is watched, it is marked as “watched” and removed from the “New in the Library” section.
The Users can also manually mark items as watched from a computer or mobile phone if needed. Adapting to this method may take a minute for those accustomed to traditional DVR experiences, but over time, the user has developed a preference for this approach.
Why you can’t delete saved recordings on YouTube TV
YouTube TV doesn’t intentionally prevent stored recordings from being deleted; its cloud DVR simply functions this way. While YouTube TV does offer an unlimited cloud DVR in terms of the number of videos that can be recorded, there are limitations on how long these recordings are retained.
Specifically, all recordings made on YouTube TV will only be stored for a maximum of nine months. This is a notable drawback of YouTube TV’s cloud DVR compared to some other services like DirectTV, as there is no option to keep recordings indefinitely.
The good thing, though, is that you don’t have to stress about deleting recordings manually. After nine months, all videos are automatically removed, so you won’t have to do anything—they’ll expire on their own.
