Tesla will soon unveil new version of the Model 3 Performance with both a single-motor Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) variant and a dual-motor all-wheel drive Long-Range Edition (LR).
Surprisingly, despite Tesla’s historical emphasis on performance, the top-of-the-line Performance variant being strangely missing, leading to disappointment among many enthusiasts as expressed by netizens.
However, Tesla has not abandoned performance enthusiasts entirely. A recent European Type Certificate, issued by the Dutch vehicle authority, hints at the existence of a new Model 3 Performance variant. This is discerned by the inclusion of a ‘T’ in the eighth digit of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), which signifies the type of motor and drive unit utilized in the vehicle.
It has been noted that the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) for the upcoming model contains a “T,” signifying dual motors. This implies that the forthcoming high-performance version of the Model 3 is likely to feature a more potent and efficient dual motor setup, elevating its performance capabilities.
Additionally, based on previously disclosed information, the Model 3 Performance is anticipated to achieve a remarkable 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of under 3 seconds.
