On the Tesla factory test track in Fremont, a new Tesla Cybertruck prototype with an upgraded design has been sighted. A few things were not present in the model when it was first shown two years ago.
Tesla first revealed the Cybertruck in 2019, and for the longest time, only one prototype of the electric pickup truck has been seen in the wild and at Tesla events.
Chile Al100, a Youtuber who makes drone flyovers over Tesla’s Fremont factory, managed to get a good 10 minutes of footage of the new Cybertruck prototype on the test track behind the factory.
Tesla is anticipated to release an update to the electric pickup truck with new functionality and a revised design.

Tesla has been working on a single-blade electromagnetic wiper system similar to this, and the Cybertruck is expected to be the first Tesla vehicle to deploy it.
This wiper appears to use a more standard swivel system, albeit one that is quite large. When Tesla introduced the prototype of the Cybertruck in 2019, its Massive Wiper was not present.
The redesigned Cybertruck also has side mirrors, which were missing from the prototype. If regulations allowed it, Tesla wanted to have side cameras stream into screens inside the electric pickup truck, but that isn’t the case in North America yet.
Tesla also appears to have modified the Cybertruck’s front illumination, which now includes three smaller lights in the center of the headlights:
The rest of the design and functionality is identical to the original prototype and are just as divisive.
Tesla boasts that the Cybertruck has a range of approximately 950 kilometers on a single charge, can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in three seconds, and can tow up to 6,300 kilograms. Tesla plans to bring the Cybertruck to production at Gigafactory Texas by the end of 2022.
